Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is commonly seen as one of the most complex but well-loved poker games. Omaha 8 or better begins just like a normal game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to every player. A sequence of wagering ensues where players can wager, check, or drop out. 3 cards are handed out, this is called the flop. Another sequence of betting happens. Once all the gamblers have either called or folded, another card is revealed on the turn. a further round of betting ensues at which point the river card is flipped. The players will need to put together the strongest high and low 5 card hands using the board and hole cards.

This is where a number of players get baffled. Contrasted to Hold’em, in which the board can make up every player’s hand, in Omaha Hi-Lo the player has to utilize precisely 3 cards on the board, and exactly 2 hole cards.
