No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the globe by most of the top pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the adverse feedback from others destroy his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.
Phil began playing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. He states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and always strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
