Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He started competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. He made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders every single game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a regular basis.
