No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His grandfather taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse comments from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.

He began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his achievements. He admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a normal basis.
