Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve last table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest players anywhere in the world. While participating in net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He often participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I know Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has no reason to settle at the table with the min buy-in.
Playing for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I think television can skew our perception of the real world at times. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world may be players you have never heard of before. Gus can be seen playing online poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
