"What precisely is Holdem pot odds and is a Hold em pot possibilities system worth pursuing?"

That was a current question I received from on of my Hold’em Students.

One issue to keep in mind, any type of Hold’em odds can and usually do get extremely confusing.

However, let me break pot possibilities down in really straightforward terms. Please note that we are only discussing Pot Odds. Not outs, implied possibilities, easy likelihood or something else like that.

In short, pot chances are the probabilities you receive when determining the ratio of the quantity of money in the pot to the amount of money it will price you to call the wager.

For example, let us say you are heads up with Player A. If there’s one hundred and fifty dollars in the pot following the flop and Gambler A places a $20.00 wager it will price you only 13 per cent of the pot to stay in the hand. If your likelihood of winning is greater than 13 % it is a no-brainer to call because you’d have beneficial pot probabilities.

That is all there would be to it really. Texas hold em pot likelihood boils down to one factor. If your chance of succeeding is much better than the ratio of the pot size to the bet then you’ve got beneficial pot possibilities. If it is lower than you could have bad pot odds.

One more thought about Texas hold em pot chances. You are still betting the player far more so than anything else. Wager on the gambler far more than your starting hands or the size of the chip stack and even, yes the pot probabilities.

If you can understand to read your opponents well you’ll be able to utilize pot probabilities to support justify or solidify your choice. But Texas hold em pot chances do not have to be an end all whenever you generate a poker judgement.

Knowing and understanding how Texas hold’em pot probabilities work is usually a useful and successful method. But again do not generate Hold’em pot likelihood your only method.
